In 1930s the Russian army was obsessed with the idea of creating huge planes. At that time, they were equipped with as many propellers as possible to help carry the huge flying fortresses into the air. There were twelve propellers on the K-7, which also supported massive gun power.
This is a lengthy video but it is the most unbelievable and futuristic technology that I have ever seen. Sixth Sense is somewhat like Microsoft’s Surface or a touch screen, the big difference is that there is no screen.
Sixth Sense projects information on any surface you want, even your hand. If you need to see what time it is, just draw a circle on your wrist–or anywhere else for that matter–and a clock appears. Want to take a picture, just frame in the subject with your fingers… later you can splatter all of your pictures against a wall, move them around, resize them, and whatever else you might choose to do with them.
Want more information on a product? Amazon book reviews for any book that you may be looking at in a bookstore? Sixth Sense can get that info for you and project it directly onto the product or book in question.

Even though I don’t own a Kindle 2 I like keeping track of its features. Tech-Recipes posted an article on how to increase the size of images within ebooks.
1. Use the 5-way controller to move the cursor to the desired image.
2. The image will be highlighted with a magnifying glass in the center of it.

3. Press the 5-way controller to magnify the image.
4. A larger view of the image will appear. It may rotate to make use of the maximum viewing area.
5. When you are ready to go back to your reading, press the 5-way controller.

I guess Islam really is a religion of peace… NOT!
Check out this report from CNN which states that a 75 year old woman was sentenced to 40 lashes, four months imprisonment and deportation from the Saudi kingdom for having two unrelated men in her house.
Apparently the two men, who were delivering bread to her house, were also arrested. One was sentenced to four months in prison and 40 lashes; the other was sentenced to six months in prison and 60 lashes.
Compare that to the brutal violence in the Christian Bible where it says …Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress… It’s no wonder that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. I mean really, can you believe the nerve of these two guys trying to nourish this woman?

Philips has been hitting us with some out-there lighting concepts lately, but the company’s Master LED light bulb is actually already on sale in Europe and is set to brighten up Stateside lives around July. The 40W-equivalent bulbs should run between $50 and $70, and expected lifetime is set at 45,000 hours — just slightly more than a CFL’s 10,000 or a standard bulb’s 750 hours. The Master is certainly a damn sight nicer looking than the other mutant LED bulbs we’ve seen, but we’ll see if consumers are ready to jump on another more-expensive-upfront lighting tech so soon after CFLs have hit the mainstream. |

If the gas-electric scooter makes it into showrooms on schedule, it will be the first plug-in hybrid vehicle to go on sale in the U.S., beating the Volt to market by several months, at least.

According to Piaggio, the three-wheel scooter will travel several miles on battery power alone, and get up to 141 miles per gallon overall, which would make it one of the most fuel efficient vehicles ever made.
The parallel hybrid design combines a 125cc engine and an electric motor in a similar way to the powertrain in the Toyota Prius, and should be capable of accelerating the scooter from 0-60 mph in about 5 seconds. It can be charged from a standard 110 volt electrical outlet, and uses a combination of regenerative braking and several adjustable hybrid modes to charge the battery on the move, balancing performance and efficiency to the tastes of the rider.
The hybrid is based on Piaggio’s line of MP3 scooters which have one wheel in back and two in the front that tilt when it turns, much like a traditional two-wheel motorcycle. The design gives it added stability at speed, and allows it to stand up without a kickstand when stopped.
Pricing has not been set, but Timoni says to expect the MP3 hybrid to cost $8,000-$9,000 when it hits showrooms next year, about the same price as the current top of the line MP3 models.

Firefox is even more riddled with holes than IE, says security firm Secunia, but Mozilla does win props for patching them faster. Mozilla’s Firefox browser has stolen a sizable chunk of marketshare away from Microsoft’s once-ubiquitous Internet Explorer — its popularity fueled largely by concerns over security weaknesses in IE. Now, the picture isn’t quite so clear.
There were 115 reported security vulnerabilities in Firefox last year — almost twice as many as Internet Explorer and Apple’s Safari browser combined, according to a new report by the security researcher. Firefox did surpass IE in one respect, though. Mozilla was much faster at repairing bugs once they were reported or discovered than Microsoft was.
